The Frei & Borel Company offer the Profiform 200, which has a 200mm (7-1/4") cutting width and weighs 18 lbs., as well as the Profiform 320, which has a 300mm (12-1/2") cutting width and weighs 41 lbs. (shown). Both units cut non-ferrous metals up to 1mm thick (18 gauge), and aluminum up to 1.5mm thick (27 gauge). Xuron Jewelry-Making Tools feature the Model 2175 Shear, equipped with by-pass cutting edges, which create perfectly square cuts on wire ranging from less than one-millimeter thick up to 16 AWG copper. Minimizing the need for secondary filling, cut wire can then be formed using pliers. This shear uses non-slip, cushioned grips and non-protruding return springs. Use any available wire to make jump rings with Indian Jewelers Supply Company’s new tool, the Jump Ringer. Place a mandrel in the winder’s chuck and wind the wire around the mandrel.
